About Churchill County School District

Nestled in the heart of Fallon, Nevada, the Churchill County School District serves students from early childhood through high school with a strong commitment to academic excellence, personal growth, and community connection. The District’s intentional grade-level structure allows for developmentally focused instruction that supports students at each stage of their learning. Churchill County School District also includes one Early Childhood Education Center, one middle school, and Churchill County High School, all dedicated to nurturing curiosity, resilience, and engaged learners prepared for life beyond the classroom.

As a leader here, you’ll have the opportunity to work alongside dedicated educators, families, and community partners who believe in the transformative power of public education and the potential of every student.

Our district is composed of one Early Childhood Education Center, three elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. We follow a structured grade-level progression to support students at every stage of their academic journey:

  • Lahontan Elementary School serves students in Kindergarten and 1st grade.
  • E.C. Best Elementary School serves 2nd and 3rd grade.
  • Numa Elementary School serves 4th and 5th grade.
  • Churchill County Middle School welcomes students in 6th through 8th grade.
  • Churchill County High School serves students in 9th through 12th grade.

This intentional structure allows us to provide age-appropriate academic and social-emotional support tailored to each developmental stage.

Mission:

Everyone. Always Learning.

Vision:

We will implement educational opportunities that:

  • Develop “life-ready” learners;
  • Nurture the whole person through intentional experiences that lead to engaged, responsible citizens; and
  • Formalize internal and external communication structures to support collaboration across all levels.

Our Beliefs:

  • All people have inherently equal worth.
  • All people can learn.
  • Personalized learning supports individuals in discovering and developing their unique talents.
  • Learning can be measured in many ways and occurs at different speeds, in diverse settings, and through varied methods.
  • Individuals are responsible for the choices they make.
  • High expectations inspire high performance.
  • Personal effort is essential to achieving one’s full potential.
  • A community thrives when its members support one another.
  • Effective instruction and maximum achievement require a safe environment and strong collaboration among parents, staff, and students.
  • Integrity and respect are foundational to building trust.
  • Embracing diversity enriches our community.
  • A nurturing, supportive family is uniquely important to a child’s healthy development.
  • Character development is a vital part of instruction.

Churchill County School District is committed to preparing students not only for academic success, but also for lifelong learning, meaningful relationships, and responsible citizenship. We believe that when we work together, we all thrive.
